Brian has worked in advertising and publishing since 1980. Upon completing an MBA from the University of Toronto, he joined Maclaren Advertising and spent six years in a variety of media buying, planning and research roles. In 1986, he moved to Toronto Life to assume the responsibilities of research and business development and went on to have a successful and diverse career at the magazine as a national account manager and finally as the director of custom publishing. He is now President of Keystone Media, a Canadian print advertising sales agency representing clients such as The Beaver and Food & Drink.

Currently editor-in-chief of Homemakers magazine, Kathy has been a magazine junkie since the age of 7 and a magazine editor since 1988. Prior to joining Homemakers in 2005, she was executive editor and then editorial director for Canadian Living (since 2000). She has also worked as an editor for Chatelaine, Flare, Modern Woman and Expression, and written for Toronto Life Fashion, Reader’s Digest and Equinox. In addition to her magazine work, she has worked as a reporter/editor for The Canadian Press and taught journalism at the Humber College School of Journalism. She is a member of the Professional Advisory Council to the University of Western Ontario School of Journalism.

Norm Lourenco, Registered Graphic Designer, founded K9 Design Co. in 1998.

Over the years, as the hands-on creative lead and design strategist at K9, Norm has directed and designed B to B, B to C and custom pubs for Ski Canada Magazine, Rogers, the Toronto Zoo, Canadian Idol/TELUS, Seneca College, Centennial College, many membership organizations and countless other publications.

Norm’s approach has always gone beyond the design to build vision for publications outside of the pages. His inspiration is helping publishers to create strategy outside of the printed book, utilizing different vehicles and partnerships to create more buzz and revenue.

Norm is a graduate of the Graphic Design program at Fanshawe College, 1990, and his Illustration studies were completed at OCAD.

Scott Bullock

Scott Bullock is a veteran consumer marketing expert with 28 years of experience in Canada and the United States. He has worked on trade titles like Publisher’s Weekly, Library Journal, School Library Journal and Small Press magazines in New York.

Scott was the Director of Consumer Marketing on major city magazines such as D Magazine in Dallas, and Toronto Life, as well as Fashion magazine and Canadian Art. From 2000 to 2004 Scott was a Partner at Coast to Coast Newsstand Services.

Scott served as the VP of Sales and Marketing for CDS Global from January 2008 to June of 2009. Scott had the honour of securing relationships with brands such as: Zoomer Magazine, Harrowsmith Country Life, Canadian Running, Gripped, Triathlon, Kenilworth Media, Youngblood Publishing, Formula Media, Dream Wave Publishing, just to name a few.

Tanya Watt

Art Director of Canada's number one fashion magazine, Flare, Tanya Watt began her speedy climb to success after graduation from Ryerson University’s School of Fashion in 1994. Tanya has held creative positions at enRoute Magazine & Venue Magazine. She joined Flare in 1995 as Associate Art Director. In only two short years, proving her professional prowess, Tanya rose to the top of her profession, and has since maintained her position as Art Director at Flare for 13 consecutive years. Numerous best-cover and gold awards, from MacLean Hunter, Rogers, the ADCC and National Magazine Awards, attest to her art direction skills. Currently Tanya shares her wealth of knowledge and creativity as a part time instructor at Ryerson University.
